Created during a college Illustrator class, this vector self-portrait has a very urban pop-art feel to it. Details are at a minimum to help create that urban feel. Where shadows or highlights sit, blocks of colors are used in place of soft, photo-realistic shadows.
I used a photo of myself to help determine correct shading and line work. Being a musician, it was easy to choose a subject matter. I warped the music bar to appear to be coming (or going!) from my ears.
Text on the side is placed on top of an EQ bar running from top to bottom. And my guitar, a Gibson SG, was used in the background to help direct the viewer's eye and tie the composition together. An outline of the entire piece can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
