Rock band Chaos Theory are a mean, bold, and in-your-face kinda band. So when they approached me about doing their layout for the upcoming album, Retaliation, I created a mean, bold, and in-your-face design.

Using Photoshop, I heavily manipulated many photos to collage into what you see. The head was replace on the body, the smoke was twisted, duplicated, masked, and highlighted, guns were added, and texture was applied through layer styles. Adjustment layers were used to level out colors to unify the different elements. The templates provided were in Illustrator, so I decided to just lay down the text in Illustrator as well.

The symmetrical feel of the album cover draws emphasis on the band's precise delivery of the music, while the grunge elements and overall dark tone let you know this isn't a smooth jazz album! Carrying over the smoke and splatter elements into the inside and back of the album, a cohesive layout is established to help deliver the product.
